Job Description
Summary


The Human Resources Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the human resources operations to include HR Delivery, Talent Development, and Wellness initiatives and projects. This position will be required to interact with a wide range of employees, clients, retirees, and business partners to provide excellent customer service. The Human Resources Support Specialist is part of the Human Resources Team and assist in the administration of the full range of benefit programs including health, welfare, and retirement as well as general HR administration of records, policies and program support for business groups and employees.


Functional Expertise


  • Plans and coordinates logistics for meetings and special events (e.g., conference rooms, refreshments, audio-visual, and participant invitations).
  • Coordinates travel arrangements (e.g., air, hotel, ground transportation, restaurants).
  • Responsible for providing active support in the areas of employee relations, HR reporting, administrative support and talent development.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations concerning employment, company policies that affect employment and employee discipline.
  • Coordinates position request forms, severance plan documents, etc.
  • Answers phones for the HR Department.
  • Process HR purchasing card activities; reviews and reconciles purchasing card expenses; enters into ERP Financials for payment processing.
  • Assists employees and managers with basic interpretation of policies and procedures, disciplinary and termination procedures.


Business Acumen


  • Assist in collecting and analyzing data and capturing HR metrics in a way that allows the team to effectively share information with peers and clients around wellness, and other HR initiatives.
  • Develop, review, and implement internal processes and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Perform timely exit interviews and record data to be analyzed for retention purposes.
  • Support project planning by providing accurate estimates and status reports and meeting deliverables.
  • Provide coordination and project support around various Talent Development initiatives and deliverables (such as Succession Planning, Employee Engagement Survey), working closely with and taking direction from the VP of HR. Participate in cross-system talent management projects as needed.
  • Assist with employee new hire orientation and other training programs.
  • Work with managers and employees to identify and address performance related issues.
  • Plans and coordinates logistics for department meetings and special events.

  • Contribute to the achievement of HR strategic plan by working within HR and across functional areas as well as, external vendors and suppliers and retirees.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively engage individuals at all levels inside and outside the company.
  • Appropriately handles sensitive information with tact and discretion.
  • Provides HR services in a proactive and solution oriented manner and aligned with the business strategy for assigned client groups.
  • Must communicate essential information in a timely manner and effectively use internal resources as a communication channel.
  • Processes confidential information and maintains strict confidentiality.


Driving Results


  • Drive to establish timelines for Performance Planning and Development Process.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through teamwork with other managers/departments.
  • Respond to employee queries and concern in timely manner.


Qualifications


  • Preferred: Bi-Lingual.
  • Preferred: SHRM-CP.
  • Required: BA/BS in Business, Human Resources, or related field.


Related Work Experience


  • Required: 3-5 years of human resources experience in a support role.
  • Applicant may possess a combination of equivalent education and work experience.

  • Ability to quickly establish relationships within an organization.
  • Good time management, judgment and discretionary skills.
  • Ability to develop compelling presentations using data and graphics.


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements


  • Office environment, travel within the U.S. (less than 5%)
