Human Resources Manager

Barkley Financial Center - Laurel Building| Hybrid Work from Home (3 days per week in-office)

Bellingham, WA

Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm | 40 hours per week

A Day in Your Life at Peoples Bank:

As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for the oversight of the daily work of the department and partnering with Human Resources (HR) leadership to ensure the routine functions of HR, including administration of pay, benefits, leave, and performance, meet Peoples Bank’s exceptional standards. As the HR Manager, you also provide support and guidance to HR staff and management when personnel issues or needs arise. You will maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Your Primary Responsibilities Would Include:

  • Monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish the Bank’s payroll processing and ensuring accurate and timely payroll preparation.
  • Coaching managers in their communication, feedback, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them.
  • Supporting company compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and so forth.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for HRIS, evaluating and implementing necessary updates and improvements.
  • Recommending employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Assists with administration of the bank wide compensation plan.
Requirements:


What You Bring to the Team:

  • You may have SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • You have PHR or SPHR certification.
  • You have the ability to model the Peoples Bank Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • You are able to build and maintain strong, positive relationships and influence and guide others as well as effectively coach employees.
  • You are experienced in the administration of payroll and benefits programs and other Human Resources recognition and engagement programs and processes.
  • You can travel to other Peoples Bank locations and off-site for meetings and/or training as required.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills including professional etiquette and service mentality.
  • You can demonstrate strong systems and analytical skills.
  • You have in depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory issues related to employment laws and regulations.
  • You may have banking experience.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or 7+years of relevant experience.
  • You have strong leadership, business communication skills including written and verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • You are skilled at business communication, both verbal and written.
  • You may have a minimum 5 years’ human resource management experience.
  • You demonstrate professional conduct and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of employee and bank information.
