Who we're looking for:

Rover has seen tremendous growth and success and as we continue to expand, we are looking for an HR Business Partner I to join our People Team. The ideal candidate will be someone who is not only passionate about people, but is driven by a desire to be an accelerator of the business while fostering a welcoming and inclusive employee culture. In this role, you will be working on a team of HR Business Partners to support our people and crucial business functions for our US teams.


You will be the primary point of contact on HR & Employee Relations issues to the US Frontline Operations team. This role has significant focus on day to day support of employee relations, providing guidance and coaching to employees and management.


Do you have a passion and expertise in employee relations with demonstrated exposure to state and federal labor laws and regulations including when there may be intersection with leave of absences and workplace accommodations?


Are you a collaborative and communicative HR professional with a focus on understanding the needs of our business while being a good listener and advocate for our employees?


Are you highly accountable, responsible, detail-oriented with a bias towards action?


Your Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment, labor laws and regulations through programs, practices, policies and training. Maintain current and complete understanding of Federal and State employment laws such as (Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, FLSA, ADA & FMLA).
  • Coach and develop managers to build capabilities in partnership with the Learning & Development programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees seeking guidance on workplace-related concerns and conflicts, providing expert guidance and support to employees and management with employee relations, performance management, performance improvement, conflict resolution and investigations while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Partner with HR colleagues and Managers to develop, update and communicate internal documents, policies, procedures and guidelines. Communicate to employees and provide guidance on policy interpretation.
  • Foster employee engagement and promote a positive culture aligned with Rover values, ensuring that employees unique voices, perspectives and challenges are heard.
  • Partner with HR colleagues on performance management programs, including review processes and career development to enhance performance and drive organizational success.
  • Help us make Rover the best place our employees have ever worked.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as required and assigned which may include Global cross-team initiatives.


Your Qualifications:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; a role model for the use of the concepts and skills we teach and exceptional commitment to our Core Values
  • Experience with Leaves of Absence and Workplace Accommodations
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Ability to relate to, influence and coach employees and management
  • Empathetic, vulnerable and passionate about driving the right business outcomes
  • Proven ability to build strong, trusting relationships with clients and team members in order to partner and collaborate effectively
  • Experience working with remote employees
  • Strong analytical skills. Experience using and presenting data to make decisions
  • 4+ years work experience in an Sr Generalist or HR Business Partner role including, performance management, change management, and employee communications
  • Expert in handling employee relations issues with non-exempt populations in an operations, distribution center, call center and/or retail environment
  • Human Resources Professional Certification preferred (e.g. PHR, SPHR, SHRM)
  • Experience partnering on cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Project/Program Management Skills
  • Team building and team development capabilities
