Position Summary:
We are seeking an HR Processor to support our federal customers in Lakewood, CO, and to join our collaborative, innovative, customer-centric culture.
The HR Processor assists in the areas of personnel processing and recordkeeping, and coordinates with Staffing Specialists, Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs), and Human Capital Managers (HCM) regarding human resources matters impacting employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform eligibility and qualifications determinations on applications and performs basic pay setting functions.
- Assist HR Staffing Specialists by providing technical support in recruitment and staffing/placement actions for a variety of professional, administrative, technical, clerical, and craft positions.
- Develop vacancy announcements, expression of interest announcements, prepare tentative and final offer letters, answer inquiries from applicants and selecting officials, and close out associated staffing files.
- Screen requests, documents, and reports for completeness and accuracy, and follow up on situations where information may be missing, incomplete or questionable.
- Prepare, create, and maintain spreadsheets or databases for awards or other mass action processing requests by CHRIS team.
- Support OPM/DOE audits, assessments and on-site visits related to personnel actions and records management; provide requested documentation and data to servicing HR Specialists; respond to inquiries; provide administrative support and take corrective action, as necessary.
- Establish personnel files for new appointees, request access to records for transferring employees, and maintain all employee files in accordance with OPM/DOE regulations.
- Generates workforce reports in relation to department activities and provides workforce data metrics to be used by leadership, specialists, or HRBPs.
- Run and/or write reports as needed to retrieve recurring tracked information, as well as impromptu queries for various requests.
- Generate various reports, such as Within Grade increases (WIGI), probationary period expiration, etc., and process related personnel action; generate workforce reports; provides basic analysis of workforce data. Conduct audit reviews to ensure information is timely, accurate, and up-to-date.
- Validate, input, and perform quality control of personnel/pay data entered into the Human Resources Information System (CHRIS), electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF), and other government-wide systems. Authenticate and process all actions in CHRIS, eOPF, etc.
- Input data into various data systems. Process employee benefits forms to include Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB), Federal Employee Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), designation of beneficiary forms, and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) which includes accurate and timely data entry and error resolution.
- Establish and maintain official personnel records, including paper and electronic versions.
Your Education & Experience
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and foster a collaborative environment where the lines of communication are open and actions taken are fully supportive of the respective missions and goals of Departmental Elements.
- 2+ years of related work experience. Federal experience required.
- Knowledge of, and skill in applying, an extensive body of HR rules, procedures, and operations sufficient to perform a wide variety of interrelated and/or non-standard HR support work; plan, coordinate, develop facts and/or resolve support problems in one or more HR specialties; use personal computers with office applications to perform operations or to prepare complex documents containing tables or graphs; and use online HR resources to obtain information accessible over the Internet, as needed.
- Skill in applying a comprehensive body of Human Resources rules, procedures and technical methods concerning recruitment and placement sufficient to create vacancy or expression of interest announcements, review applicant eligibility and qualifications for a variety of positions.
- Ability to identify and analyze HR issues and/or problems to determine their interrelationships, and to determine the appropriate methods and techniques needed to resolve them.
- Knowledge of Federal employment practices and procedures, including merit promotion and internal placement procedures, delegated examining, and special employment programs including hiring authorities/eligibilities for student programs, veterans appointments and other competitive and excepted service appointments.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of current HR database systems to query, retrieve, and analyze information in order to complete assignments.
