Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Employment Specialist to join their HR team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of employment management at Cary Medical Center performing functions related to recruitment, application management, and the onboarding program. this individual should also exercise independent judgement and discretion regarding delegated responsibilities and be able to represent the company in a very professional and positive manner.

Duties Include but are not limited to:

1. Recruiting (includes but not limited to)

a. Communicate with the Human Resources Manager on a regular basis regarding vacant position(s) and the status of recruitment efforts.

b. Plan, coordinate, and participate in recruitment travel & career days.

c. Plan and coordinate retention & recruitment activities from within the medical center.

d. Develop recruitment strategies that attract potential qualified candidates.

e. Work collaboratively with placement agencies to locate candidates for identified positions.

f. Places advertisements in a variety of locations such as newspapers, work-related magazines & online methods.

g. Assists with the coordination of and implementation of identified site visits of potential candidates.

2. Applicant & Interview Management (includes but not limited to)

a. Maintain and update employee files and databases.

b. Maintain applications that are received and forward qualified applicants to appropriate leader, manager, director, or administrator for review.

c. Schedules interviews accordingly with the department leader, manager, director, or administrator and may be asked to be part of the interview team.

d. Directs the chosen candidate information to the Director of Human Resources for the determination of salary or wages.

3. Onboarding (includes but not limited to)

a. Conducts reference checks and initiates the request for the background check on candidates who have been made an offer of employment. This also includes OIG checks, along with Maine State Background Checks for L’Acadie employees.

b. Coordinates onboarding schedule for all new hires and ensures that all post-offer requirements are met prior to allowing employee to begin work.

c. Coordinates the New Employee Orientation program at least 6 times per year and conducts and analyses the program evaluations (when offered).

d. Maintains and assists with the coordination of orientation programs through the Learning Management System.

Requirements:

1. At least three years or more prior professional experience in Human Resources.

2. Must have the ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion.

3. Professional certification is desirable, but not required.

4. Experience with benefit programs preferred.

5. Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

6. Maintain the ability to organize, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

7. Basic computer knowledge of work processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

8. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
