HR Director
$165-190k plus 25% bonus
Overland Park, KS
Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client find their next HR Director. The HR Director will develop, direct, and administer the policies and procedures of the personnel and labor relations functions to assure compatibility with business units growth objectives through cost-effectiveness, timely availability of qualified personnel and harmonious employee relations. Coordinate with the Vice President-Manufacturing, the Safety and Accident Prevention Policies and programs of the Company.
Responsibilities
- Select, develop, and motivate a competent staff to assure an efficient and cost-effective operation.
- Ensure that interests of all levels of employees are adequately represented through development and direction of timely employee relation programs.
- Participate in the formulation and implementation of budgets, objectives and plans to promote Company growth.
- Keep Sr. Management informed on a timely period basis about human resources activities and trends to contribute to the total Company planning process.
- Obtain qualified applicants for management interview through direct and controlled employment and recruiting programs.
- Develop and participate in the maintenance of salaried and hourly personnel policies and procedures in the United States and Canada.
- Negotiate labor contracts and provide counsel and guidance on labor matters to provide the Company with economical and fair labor relations programs.
- Assure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws to protect the Company from time consuming and costly legal litigation.
- Develop and guide the implementation of policies in the areas of human resource management to assure the availability of trained and motivated personnel throughout the Company.
Requirements
- Ability to travel (25%) to operating plants throughout the year.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR) will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Hands-on experience in all aspects of HR management including contract negotiations.
- 4-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar relevant field. Advanced degree is a plus. Previous experience with responsibility for multi-site manufacturing (union and non-union) environment 7-10 year(s).
- In-depth knowledge of Human Resource operations, Labor Relations, and legal regulations.
