Job Description
Basic Job Function:Lead the efforts of the Rooms Division for the Housekeeping operations at The Inn. Work with the Innkeeper to develop and execute a strategic plan for raising the level of service and create efficiency within the Housekeeping Department. Uphold and assure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.Minimum Requirements: Proven leadership and service experience in an upscale hotel and/or resort, with concentration within the housekeeping functionMinimum two (1) year experience in a Housekeeping Supervisor role at comparable hotel property (quality, size, rate structure, amenities)Strong understanding of housekeeping and cleanliness standards (in a 4-star environment, preferred but not required)High School Diploma or equivalent credentialsCollege graduate or hospitality degree preferredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, and OutlookKnowledge in property management systems, POS systems, budgeting and planning platforms is desiredProficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone and calculatorInternational experience and foreign languages preferredCPR certification preferredFirst Aid certification preferredMust possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers efficiently and effectivelyMust be detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changesMust be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysReport to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy Tasks/Responsibilities: Along with the Housekeeping Manager, leads and manages the Housekeeping Department at The InnEnsures housekeeping cleanliness standards are met and/or exceededSupport Service Quality training efforts to drive individual and collective staff developmentGuide, coach, counsel, develop and inspire direct reports in a leadership role which promotes teamwork and enhances the overall service experience and maximizes productivityAttend and/or lead designated daily, weekly and/or monthly meetings as neededAssist with performance evaluations & reviews for department staffMaintain accurate linen inventory of rooms and linen closets and ensure that all linens are delivered and picked up on timeSupervise and assist with deep cleaningResponsible for overseeing units for inspections and service in a timely manner ensuring rooms are ready by check inInspect cleanliness of all rooms to ensure company standardsMaintain written inspection reports of all rooms(maintenance items)Maintain written inspection forms on each subordinate (job performance)Provide clear and concise feedback to subordinate concerning job performanceAssist in the creation, planning and implementation of department programs, procedures and employee goalsResponsible for one on one meeting with employees to review job and goals performanceResponsible for coaching and counseling employees on job performanceResponsible for updating the Office Coordinator on room statusMaintain accurate guest information in the Opera systemMaintain accurate filesAssist in maintaining accurate and up to date Task Inventory and Breakdowns per positionMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding areaLearn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and MembersEnsure all subordinates are in accordance with grooming standards and dress code policies on a daily basisEnsure all lost and found items are handled according to policyAssist in establishing and maintaining recognition programsAssist the department in reaching financial goalsLearn the names and personally recognize our regular GuestsMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s abilityIf applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues), giving information to admin support if computer access is not availableMaintain thorough knowledge of current GPRs and follow-up on issues as neededFollow up on Guest/member issues as neededMaintain cleanliness and organization in all work areasUphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timingUphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proceduresReport all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediatelyAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership Physical Requirements: Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periodsIf applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to perform repetitive tasks with accuracyAbility to lift, carry, pull and push up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout a shiftAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbalMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazardsMaintain compliance with Company Resort Professional Image Policy
