Supervise the daily functions of Environmental Services including the Southridge campus and clinics. Works with the department director to maintain and enhance all department functions, quality and infection control practices.
Meet Joint Commission, DOH and CMS requirements while providing our patients, visitors and staff excellent customer service.
- Fiscal Management: Monitor appropriate use of timekeeping, expenditures and assist in maintaining budgets and capital expenditures within established guidelines. Assist in monitoring department-specific reports/results (e.g. responsibility, productivity, labor distribution, patient experience) and manage budget successfully.
- Compliance: Enforce policies and procedures to reflect compliance with Medicare (HCFA), Medicaid, Joint Commission, and other Federal and State requirements. Review and follow-up on incident reports as assigned
- Department Operations: Monitor and evaluate activities, assignments and equipment consistent with established procedures and good patient care/customer service. Participate in organizing, scheduling and conducting staff meetings and periodic in-service and educational opportunities for staff a minimum of six times a year. Monitor and coach employees for maximum performance utilizing appropriate corrective action plans as necessary to improve performance/behavior deficiencies. Monitor goal results, following the organization’s 5-pillar approach. Submit reports and forms on time (e.g. orientation checklists, performance evaluations).
- Performance Improvement: Monitor quality standards and controls. Follow Plan-Do-Check-Act process for performance improvement, which includes identification of barriers and contingency plans. Assist in assessing patient/customer needs in relation to the mission, vision, values and strategic plan. Plan and set goals, soliciting staff input to facilitate buy-in and understanding.
- Interpersonal Relations: Utilize and encourage a variety of communication means, both written and verbal, to facilitate positive interaction and information sharing. Promote and support an environment for high morale, teamwork and cooperative spirit. Actively participate and contribute on various committees, teams and task forces as requested.
- Civic Activities: Represent Trios Health at civic and community organizations/events and represents Trios Health at all Trios Health sponsored events.
- ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Is visible and available to staff for assistance/guidance with time management, quality and patient experience.
- Daily inspection of hospital patient areas, public areas and clinics: rotating between properties.
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, safety and environmental/infection control standards.
- Conduct regular ATP testing in patient environments.
- Annual infection control tour of linen processing facility.
- Assist with scheduling and arranges coverage during vacation/sick leave.
- Attends special in-services and educational seminars as requested by Director/Executive Director. Shows willingness to learn and accept change.
- Uses body language to convey a sense of caring and warmth, follows AIDET. Maintains eye contact with patient/staff. Uses active listening skills.
- Assist with interviews, hiring and performance reviews.
- Assists with maintaining consistent levels of linens.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
