Salary Range: $13.65 - $17.28 hourly


Job Summary


The House Manager is responsible for overseeing performance arrangements for every event held at UCCC. Responsibilities include supervising front-of-house volunteer staff, overseeing audience safety and comfort, administering general building services during an event. Acts as liaison between tenant and UCCC in a non-technical capacity.


Experience, Knowledge, Skills


  • English/Spanish bilingual skills helpful.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Desire to work in Performing Arts environment in a service capacity.


Essential Functions


  • Notify recreation staff when event has concluded and secure and lock front of house.
  • Responsibilities include supervising front-of-house volunteer staff, overseeing audience safety and comfort, administering general building services during an event.
  • Work with ticket office and stage manager to ensure event begins on time and to tenant's satisfaction.
  • Oversee performance arrangements for events held at the UCCC.
  • Act as liaison between tenant and UCCC in a non-technical capacity.
  • Conduct pre-show meetings with volunteer staff to assign responsibilities and place equipment and programs.
  • Ensure follow-through on all details for event. Verify the UCCC is correctly set and prepared to tenant's use.


Work Environment And Physical Requirements


  • Variable hours may be required to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Vision enough to interpret computer screens and documents to assist the public and complete work assignments; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;
  • Operate standard office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements;
  • Ability to remain in a standing (walking) position for extended periods of time;
  • Ability to lift and move 25 pounds;
  • Communication skills enough to hear and convey information to/from the public via telephone and in person;
  • Manual dexterity enough to accurately input, retrieve and verify work assignments; employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee may have frequent contact with the public--in person, via email/telephone, sometimes facing adverse or confrontational situations with internal/external customers.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl;
