What You’ll Be Doing
Serve as chart & charge analyst for the timely and complete collection, review, reconciliation and processing of patient charts & charges necessary to complete pre-bill steps and audits for Hospital Medicine. Ensures accurate charge release, timely filing, and compliance with documentation requirements and overall standards. Build and maintain positive relationships with key client & SCP Health personnel to include Medical Directors, HIM, Quality, Hospital Practice Specialist (HPS) and providers.
  • Obtain daily HM Census for validation as compared to MySCP Care; reconcile for accuracy
  • Following Corporate or Local Steady State productivity and due dates for release and resolution, ensure timelines are met and escalate as needed through Operations Team
  • Communicate frequently with functional departments inside the hospital, Providers, Chart Acquisition, Coding and Billing
  • Ensure all required documentation is available in the HM chart (hospital EMR) for compliance with coding and billing requirements
  • Monitor Ad-hoc request from QA, Billing or Coders; responding timely to denials or other issues
  • Adhere to 30-120 day timely release policy to avoid write offs and to ensure frequent communication & follow up with providers that have delinquencies or charts pending resolution
  • Follow required workflow process (flagging in MySCP Care) to notify downstream departments of final charts and/or chart elements and encounters to trigger remote acquisition and loading into OnBase for Coding, QA and Billing
  • Participate in standing meetings, conference calls or ad-hoc to improve processes and efficiencies between LOTC domains
Who/What We Are Looking For
  • You are able to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • You possess the maturity, sophistication, and professional demeanor to interface with all levels of management, staff, and providers
  • You are able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos with ability to write simple, but professional correspondence
  • You have a High School diploma with at least one year of related experience, training or equivalent combination of education an experience required
  • You have basic mathematical skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • You are able to work diligently, meeting workload expectations with little oversight
  • You have good organizational skills
  • You are tech savvy with direct experience with Microsoft Office to include Microsoft Excel skills with ability to learn various software applications
  • This is a remote position, home based: well qualified talent must be located in Nashville, TN
