Highway Maintenance Worker Iii - Crew Leader (61034949)

Job Responsibilities

Serves as crew leader coordinating various maintenance operations to include installation of driveways, cleaning out ditches, repairing concrete structures, vegetation management, traffic control, etc. Assists the Crew Foreman in ensuring that all work performed is recorded in the maintenance data management system (HMMS) and all daily, weekly, monthly, etc. reports are submitted to the RME in a timely fashion. Performs skilled manual labor and operates heavy equipment (Example - backhoe) down to small equipment (Example - Dump Truck) in roadway maintenance or to remove trees from the roadway during emergencies after hours. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations, to include operating medium or heavy duty equipment. May include being available for extended working hours or 12-hour shifts. Picks up litter, debris, and dead animals as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Two (2) years of related work experience. Relevant education may substitute for the experience requirement. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required upon entry to the position. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
