Job Responsibilities

• THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN DISTRICT 3 - SPARTANBURG MAINTENANCE**

Previous applicants are still being considered.** Performs manual labor to assist with installing and repairing catch basins and other drainage structures and placing drainage pipes. Performs a variety of vegetation management activities using equipment such as powered hand tools(i.e., chainsaws, weed eaters, and backpack herbicide sprayers, etc.). Assists with properly placing traffic control devices to set up a maintenance work zone. Serves as a flagger to safely direct and control traffic in maintenance activities. Picks up litter, debris, and dead animals. Operates small equipment such as dump trucks, power tools, and hand tools to perform a variety of maintenance activities. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations; may include being available for extended working hours or 12-hour shifts. Operates a dump truck with snow plow and spreader. Performs other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

There are no minimum training or experience requirements for this classification. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required upon entry to the position. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
