Help Desk Technician

Local, established Managed Service Provider is looking for a competent Help Desk Technician (Tier 2) position to provide fast and useful technical assistance. An excellent Help Desk Technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. They must also be customer-oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction.


Qualifications And Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the ticketing system

• Advanced knowledge maintaining and configuring PCs and Laptops; including but not limited to Windows 7 and newer, networking, Office apps, Internet and anti-virus

• Superior customer service skills, ability to troubleshoot and explain complex issues to non-technical individuals

• Experience maintaining Office 365 user accounts

• Experience supporting Macs

• Basic understanding of Windows 2008-16 servers

• Basic understanding of network switches, routers, firewalls and VPN

• Solid written and oral communication skills

• Solid interpersonal and team skills

• Solid documentation and reporting skills

• Ability to multi-task

• Strong organizational and analytical skills

• Proven ability to be self-motivated and self-sufficient


Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 2+ years of support experience

• BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Microsoft, A+, N+, and/or S+ certifications or equivalent experience
