Job Description
Responsibilities:
  • Update procedures, processes, and policies. Provide technical guidance/training to warfighters and peers.
  • Support design and subsequent evaluations of VDI/CDI client configurations.
  • Support periodic problem investigations and root cause analysis tasks for higher complexity command wide issues.
  • Evaluate potential courses of action with the engineering teams.
  • Support planning and desired configurations for new upgrades to the environment.
  • Troubleshooting includes operating systems, applications/hardware issues, and installation of software and drivers.
  • Provide Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications support to include Internet Explorer, MS Edge, MS Outlook, Office 365, Adobe Reader, Java, and PKI technologies.
  • Utilize BMC Helix/Remedy for tracking, metric gathering, trending, and complex analysis.
  • Collaboration across all the ITCC lines of service and warfighter divisions to perform system monitoring/analysis.
  • Requires solid oral/written communication with flexibility to support technical activities after-hours and weekends as needed.
  • Daily troubleshooting with warfighter customers and analysis to resolve warfighter access/network/compute/storage incidents.
  • Exercise independent judgment to suggest/implement automation and process improvements to improve the overall user experience.
  • Hardware includes, but is not limited to, desktops, laptops and tablet PC platforms as well as networked and standalone printers/copier/fax machines and smartphones.
  • Provide Desk-side, phone, and analysis for the Command and Control Facility Windows/RHEL environment.
  • Participate in the decision making process and testing to verify system/enterprise level requirements as well as design trade space discussions.
Qualifications:

Candidates must meet or exceed the following:

  • At least one year of technical training in an IT related field
  • CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+ certifications desired and required within 6 months for hire
  • Must be flexible with scheduling, able to work nights/weekends as needed
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. (college degree desired) or 4+ relevant work/ military experience in lieu of BS
  • Certifications:
    • CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+ certifications desired and required within 6 months for hire
  • BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10
    • At least one year of technical training in an IT related field
    • Two or more years of technical support experience
  • Two or more years of technical support experience
  • Must be familiar with MS products, O365, Outlook email, basic desktop troubleshooting
