Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Level 2

Hourly Pay: Our hourly pay rate for a Level 2 mechanic is $40.00.

• Maintaining any certifications required for specific or specialized work, as well as any licenses required to operate service vehicles
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Performs routine inspections and services on equipment
• All level 2 mechanics must have thorough knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of heavy duty systems, assemblies, and parts, including such major systems as diesel, multifuel, and gasoline engines, including supercharged and turbocharged engines; turbine engines; automatic and manual transmissions and gear reduction systems, including those with torque converters, planetary gears, and power take offs; drive line assemblies including differentials, power dividers, and dual speed axles; electrical and electronic systems and accessories, including ignition systems, charging and starting systems, and wiring and lighting systems; carbureted and fuel injection systems; and emission control systems.
• Must be knowledgeable of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other nonmechanical systems which have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of mechanical systems.

• High School Degree or more
• Experience with diagnostic software
• Follows all safety policies and procedures and uses required PPE properly
• Intermediate computer skills
• Availability to work overtime and weekends as required
• Knowledge/experience with heavy equipment and a strong working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems, diesel, etc.
• Experience with heavy large equipment and a strong working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems, diesel, etc
• Good decision making, problem solving, troubleshooting, and creative thinking skills
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
