Health Benefits is seeking an Underwriter. The key purpose of this position is to provide underwriting support to a defined group of new as well as renewal self-funded clients specifically in the stop loss area. Internally this position works closely with Client Management, Sales and Claims. Externally this position interacts with Brokers and Stop Loss Carriers. This is a permanent work from home position. Job Responsibilities Include

• Analyzes monthly reports to create solutions that address concerns
• Completes renewal activities including cost renewal, summary analyst, claim project costs, plans changes, renewal presentations, policy review and execution
• Analyzes total book of business and recommends compelling pricing options and strategies to retain or attract new business
• Prepares and maintains quote spreadsheets, stop loss data and historical client information used for business analysis and client presentations.
• Other duties as needed/assigned
• Creates target pricing and makes appropriate carrier selection recommendations
• Partners with Client Management, Sales and Brokers to address clients concerns and issues regarding pricing and stop loss for both renewals and new client business. This includes:
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with stop loss carriers to negotiate best possible terms for clients in order to maximize Health Benefits account retention and renewal increases.

Job Qualifications

• Proficient in MS Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Ability to shift priorities and focus on new task or challenges as needed
• Keen attention to detail including accuracy, thoroughness, and consistency
• TPA experience is a plus
• Analytical skills including the ability to make recommendations
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, along with all levels of the organization
• You must have a private workspace with access to high-speed internet
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• In-depth knowledge of self-funded health insurance is necessary to be successful
• Minimum of 3 years of health insurance underwriting experience or related experience in self-funded health insurance is required

The compensation range for this Health Underwriter position is $17.28 to $32.44. The salary offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan.
