Overview:

We are a growing animation studio based in Los Angeles seeking an experienced Head of Story to lead the story team for our upcoming animated feature film based on a successful gaming IP. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animation and a proven track record of creating compelling and engaging stories at a leadership level.

Responsibilities:

• Provide animators with initial rhythm references through dynamic storyboards and provide references for narrative and shot language.
• Control storyboard review according to the Director's requirements so as to meet the quality and grade requirements of the finished film.
• Collaborate with other departments, maintain good communication within the team, and complete tasks efficiently so that the project stays on schedule.
• Provide the Concept Designer with early composition references and layout arrangements through storyboard sketches.
• Under the Director's vision, create two-dimensional storyboards and reasonably split the plot of the story.

Required Qualifications:

• Experienced in managing a team with strong coordination and execution judgment ability and able to supervise each pipeline in the process of storyboard production.
• Familiar with the storyboard production process of films and must have unique insights into the storyboard structure of numerous domestic and foreign films and animations.
• Must possess a keen perception of composition, modeling, color, and excellent expression ability of spatial perspective.
• Must have a rich imagination and animation performance ability and be familiar with camera language and general film narrative techniques.
• More than 10 years of experience in storyboarding, traditional 2D or 3D animation production experience, and must have participated in the creation of complete original films or animation storyboarding.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in animation, film, or a related field.
• Experience working as the Head of Story at an established animation studio.
