Head of Sourcing

This position will be responsible for directing Sourcing for ’47 by collaborating with the Design team & overseas suppliers to ensure that design integrity, quality, fit, target pricing are achieved, and established production timelines are met.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on margin goals by driving cost and product development initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional leaders.
• Work with functional leaders on the prototype creation process from initial concept through bulk production, ensuring all relevant details are provided to factories to maximize the accuracy of samples and production against design intention.
• Implement sourcing strategies that maximize value capture and minimize risk with a goal of year-over-year improvement across categories.
• Own and foster global vendor relationships.
• Lead aspects of supplier strategy, cost negotiation, product safety/quality.
• Communicate daily with overseas internal offices, manufacturers and agents regarding:

1. Costing of future programs

2. Sample development

3. Production capacity

4. Monitor delivery dates, shipping status and updating all relevant teams

5. Monitoring production quality

6. Internal and external audits/compliance

• Negotiate complex contract terms with suppliers with an eye on cost, efficiency, quality, and service
• Work with functional leaders to source new fabrics, washes, & embellishment techniques to aid Design in the creation of new style offerings
• Keep pulse on industry trends to drive and evolve sourcing strategies
• Drive merchandise quality, sustainability and risk management initiatives with best-in-class suppliers that evolve with both the needs of the business and industry standards
• Drive innovation of tools, in collaboration with Merchandising, Product Development and Design, and spearhead their implementation to enable the team to manage and mitigate risk, uncertainty and threats while ensuring supply chain continuity, cost control and quality assurance
• Drive sourcing strategies that evolve with shifts in trade policies and allow for flexibility through an on-going, active knowledge of a dynamic geo-political landscape
• Lead a team that fosters a culture of protecting the ’47 Brand through responsibly sourced quality merchandise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
• Strong background and work experience in Sourcing and Development
• 7-15 years’ Sourcing experience
• Ability to travel to overseas factories
• Excels at operating in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Demonstrates commitment to high professional ethical standards
