Job Description
Realm Health, an industry leading insurance company is seeking a highly capable individual to oversee all aspects of financial management, accounting, and reporting for our organization. As the Head of Accounting & Finance, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial stability and growth of our business. You will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, managing financial risks, and ensuring compliance with legal and accounting requirements. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, finance, and financial management, and be able to demonstrate strong leadership and analytical skills.
Essential responsibilities as the Head of Accounting & Finance include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparing budgets and forecasts, and providing strategic financial advice to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.
  • Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures, as well as ensuring compliance with legal and accounting regulations.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and disbursements.
  • Managing the organization’s financial risks, including credit, currency, and interest rate risks.
  • Analyzing financial data and providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting and finance department, including managing staff, setting performance targets, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Overseeing the preparation and presentation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is highly desirable. Obtainment of CPA designation will be required within one (1) year of employment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial management, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of financial software, such as financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree in accounting or finance is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of financial risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing staff and leading teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
