Job Summary:
We are seeking a Head Men's Basketball Coach who is passionate about building and sustaining a dynamic basketball program where the team maximizes their potential and players demonstrate exceptional basketball skills. As the leader of our basketball program, you will be fully committed to the mission and goals of our university, fostering spiritual growth among our student-athletes.

What We're Looking For:
  • Strong recruiting abilities to identify and attract top talent to the program, while maintaining compliance with NCAA rules and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with university administration, coaching staff, student-athletes, and other stakeholders
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop student-athletes both on and off the court
  • Passion for basketball and a proven track record of building and sustaining successful men's basketball programs
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of the university, including fostering spiritual growth among student-athletes
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Collaborating with university administration, coaching staff, and other stakeholders to foster a positive team culture and promote the mission and values of the university.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the men's basketball program, including coaching, practice planning, game preparation, and player development
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to student-athletes, helping them maximize their potential both on and off the court
  • Creating and implementing strategic plans to achieve team goals, including game strategies, practice plans, and player development programs
  • Recruiting and retaining talented student-athletes who align with the program's values and goals, while adhering to NCAA regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Will also stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 10 pounds throughout the day.
  • Vision to read documents, e-mail and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor.
  • Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone.
  • Significant sedentary periods greater than one hour.
