Haul Truck/ Water Truck Operator

Position Summary:

Responsible for operating the Haul Truck/Water Truck but not limited to other pieces of mobile equipment and utility work as needed. Hours of operation are determined by customer demand. Must be able to work extended hours and Saturdays.

Responsibilities:

Water Truck responsibilities:

• Maintain enough water to minimize dust.
• Safely operate the machine in all types of terrain and ground conditions.
• Operate the water truck safely around the loading and dumping areas.
• Safely judge distances between the water truck and multiple pieces of equipment

Haul Truck Responsibilities:

• Assist with maintenance in the quarry, and operation of pit and yard loaders.
• Perform a pre-shift inspection, minor maintenance, and repairs on the haul truck.
• Operate 40-50-ton haul trucks loaded with rock.

Requirements

• Haul Truck and Water Truck experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Occasional weekend work required
• Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment
• Perform daily inspection of vehicle
• Minimum 1-year previous experience in a role with similar responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits

We are excited to share the base hourly range for this position is $21.70 – $30.50. The offered compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
