Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s North Carolina Battery Plant Center of Excellence Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Group Leader Trainer.

The Group Leader Trainer will develop the skills of our employees at Toyota’s Battery Plant in North Carolina, is responsible for designing and delivering training programs, evaluating employee performance, and providing employee feedback, and will develop methodologies and demonstrate superior teamwork abilities. A Group Leader Trainer will have the ability to quickly assess the company’s needs and design specialized training programs to enhance productivity.

This position reports to the Center of Excellence Manager and partners with production, engineering, quality, and other departments.

What you’ll be doing

  • Conduct staff training.
  • Provide expertise in development design.
  • Identify training needs and provide recommendations on programs and activities.
  • Deliver training programs.
  • Design and administer training programs.
  • Maintain records and provide participants with feedback.
  • Guide managers and supervisors in developing training skills.

What you bring

  • Passion for teaching and public speaking.
  • Outstanding knowledge of learning theories and training methodologies.
  • Candidate must be able to develop, conduct and evaluate the effectiveness of basic technical training.
  • Strong teamwork abilities.
  • BA/BS degree in an engineering/manufacturing discipline or five years of related professional experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of staff learning and assessment protocol.
  • Candidate is required to prepare training courses to include course materials and technical/training manuals and materials.
  • Experience leading teams, including coaching a team to solve problems and continually improve.

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience with equipment reliability and new equipment technology related to a start-up, major or new model change, or product launch.
  • Assist in training new team members and employees in company values and procedures.
  • Conduct pre – and post-evaluations of employees and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ability to maintain class and student records.
  • Maintain inventory and administration of required safety training.
  • Ability to conduct technical, academic, and professional training courses as required.
  • Manage the onboarding process, including orienting new hires, providing on-the-job training, and assigning projects; assess employee performance, provide career development plans, and implement disciplinary measures as appropriate.
