Grocery Clerk Jobs

JOB FUNCTION: Support and assist the grocery department through various tasks. Prospective employees should be outgoing, friendly, hard-working, dependable and a team player. Most positions are initially part-time. Part-time positions may lead to full-time employment based on job performance and available openings. To be in compliance with state and federal child labor laws, employees under 18 years of age may have restricted job duties, responsibilities and hours of work. Must be at least 14 years old or older to work in the grocery department. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to work with others
• Unload product off of the truck to be stocked on shelves
• Must be able to work Saturdays and some evenings
• Other duties as assigned BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Sack groceries and provide "to your car" carry out service
• Cashier duties include checking out customers and operating a POS (Point of Sale) system
• Good interpersonal skills
• Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, twisting, kneeling, squatting, crouching
• EOE
• Basic math skills are required
• Potential E-Commerce duties
• Previous experience in the grocery business or a related field is helpful but not required PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Exposure to varying temperatures and inclement weather
• Assist all customers in their shopping
• On feet 8 hours per day
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Record and report accurate inventory counts
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Frequently lift 0-20 pounds
• Stock shelves with products for customers to purchase
• Properly price and display product signs
• Clean and sanitize daily
• Good verbal communication skills
• Must be at least 14 years old or older
• Repetitive lifting and bending
