Job Description

:

The Graphic Designer / Presentation & Data Designer (PDD) is responsible for breaking down complexity through

visual storytelling and conveying our story and discrete (sometimes abstract) business concepts

in a concise and impactful way for various audiences. You will create dynamic, eye-catching

client facing collateral that showcases our key value propositions and solutions to win new

business and retain existing clients.

You will have a direct and immediate impact on supporting our growth and shaping how we

position our marketplace brand. You will work closely with all layers of the organization along

with cross functional teams on multiple concurrent projects.

In summary, the PDD will bring ideas and execution to life through imagery, infographics and

overall design execution across a variety of collateral.


Key Accountabilities/Decision Making & Influence:

  • Create visually compelling client facing, data driven collateral, including charts and other data visualization methods, based on inputs from our business stakeholders.
  • Clear and effective presentation of information and fast visual translation of ideas.
  • Managers, and Clients in the development and production of client facing materials to support sales initiatives, proprietary events, webcasts/webinars, etc.
  • Collaborate with other creative teams to ensure a cohesive, brand consistent graphical approach across the business line and delivery mediums. Dedicate oneself to examining and improving a unified approach.
  • Have a deep understanding of information hierarchy, presenting important details in a way that readers can easily absorb.
  • Ability to communicate and synthesize information into strategic visuals with simple, easy to understand takeaways.
  • Train new staff and mentor junior members of the team (if applicable).
  • Assist Manager to develop new strategies and systems. Assist with the management of technology and systems necessary for design and production. Identify problems and provide solutions as needed.
  • Help maintain content libraries and evangelize content repurposing and version control.
  • Improve efficiency by actively pursuing changing technology and independently learning new approaches. Teach those new approaches to the team. Assume responsibility for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Pursue and share best practices with the team.
  • Build strategic narratives that convey our business, strategy, and value proposition through design, and are expressed via a variety of different collateral types, including PowerPoint slides, brochures, one pagers, web banners, post cards, printed letters, and more.
  • Design data-driven stories to inform a wide variety of decision makers, existing clients, and employees.
  • Act as primary design contact for subject matter experts (SMEs), Marketing, Project
  • Lead the transformation of raw data and concepts into concise and meaningful visuals by consulting with SMEs and asking thoughtful and probing questions.


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

  • Advanced proficiency across both Macintosh and PC environments.

  • Ability to take direction and actively seek feedback as well as the ability to offer feedback using respect, empathy, and consideration.
  • Ability to distil business concepts and abstract ideas into clear, compelling collateral.
  • Degree in Design / Illustration / Information Design or similar along with 3 or more years of successful Design experience. Must have a portfolio showcasing advanced data driven design work.
  • Keen eye for typography, color and layout and for breaking down complex information into beautiful and simplified content to better engage our audience.
  • Supreme ability to express information through visual design and iterate quickly.
  • Experience working with, championing, and serving as a SME for brand standards.
  • Ability to negotiate with clients to reach win/win solutions.
  • Experience with Seismic, Sketch, and Figma preferred.
  • Expert in all design software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create custom images, icons, and infographics that will be used in presentations and other designed collateral.
