They will have solid writing and verbal skills, and a natural eye for design. They will be able to lead projects with minimal oversight and manage up as needed. They will be nimble and very comfortable navigating ambiguity, because there will be times when we'll need to build the plane while we are flying it.

Primary Function: Support marketing team efforts and initiatives that will grow the Capacity organization with a focus on graphic design, and content creation. This position will specifically focus on Retail projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval.
• Creating a wide range of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites with software such as photoshop.
• Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.
• Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements when necessary.
• Communicating with clients about layout and design.
• Preparing finished art by operating necessary equipment and software.
• Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials.

Job Specifications/Qualifications:

• Keen eye for visual composition.
• Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
• Experience with computer-aided design.
• Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
• Strong understanding of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
• Experience as a graphic designer or in commercial real estate preferred.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field.

Education/Experience:

• The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a background in graphic design. Must be comfortable working in office environment, downtown Portland and can reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
