About the Opportunity:
The Provost Office at Northeastern University invites applications for a Grant & Project Manager to support City to City (C2C), a new initiative at Northeastern University to support community engaged research with the goal of finding equitable solutions to local policy problems (

The C2C team plays a key role in helping create partnerships between researchers and policymakers (city departments, state agencies, and community-based organizations) to co-create data-driven policy analysis, co-design and implement policy solutions, and iterate on program evaluation and development to move the needle on society’s most pressing public problems such as crime, housing, public health, and workforce development. This position will collaborate with East and West Coast directors to manage and execute projects and to provide organizational support related to grants management, operations, budgeting, expense tracking, and communications. 75% time to be spent supporting Boston leadership and 25% to support full team, including Oakland leadership. This job will have a hybrid in-person/work-from-home work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborates on and supports operations, administrative, and activities, including:
  • Maintain workflows and action plans tracking day-to-day tasks and long-term goals to ensure project completion.
  • Support C2C team communication needs via email, social media, and website development.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for internal proposal tracking, post-award management, and for reporting to funders.
  • Perform other relevant duties as needed.
  • Attend meetings with C2C team and partners as relevant.
  • Provide pre- and post-award administration support for C2C initiative.
  • Support the development and tracking of metrics related to C2C project goals and grant funding.
  • Track and report on expenses tied to a variety of public and private funding sources.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of C2C team's research administration needs and provide corresponding support.
  • As appropriate, maintain meeting notes and communicate action items to team members.
  • Assist C2C team with grant proposal preparation, including budget development, administrative portions of proposals, and coordinating submission.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Expertise in office technology, including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Google Workspace; Zoom.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team and independently.
  • Experience in grant administration and/or financial management is a plus.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ideal candidate has background /understanding of movements or organizations dedicated to social justice and economic opportunity.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams; SmartSheets; MailChimp; WordPress, and/or interest in learning new platforms and tools preferred.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Ideal candidate has studied DEI / anti-oppression / cultural competency and similar models of leadership or organizing.
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and balance competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
