Job Description
JOB LOCATION: Raleigh/Garner/Dunn, NC areas


POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 1


Primary Function


Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, cameras, and fixtures. May install or service GPS devices on power construction equipment, vehicles, and at asphalt and concrete plants.


Essential Duties


GPS Technician


  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components, using testing equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Work from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, as necessary, to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Proficient use of basic Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Prepare and/or supervise preparation of data; record and document all information related to the project including sketches, field engineering activities and etc.
  • Devices are for use including, but not limited to, HCSS and Trimble.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure proper function.
  • Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, batteries, or other components.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain GPS devices, as well as electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, using hand and power tools.
  • Perform necessary work while complying with all company policies and procedures.
  • Capable of troubleshooting GPS machine guidance equipment and electronic files.
  • Proficient use of survey equipment such as level, total station, and GPS rover.


Education


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.


Work Experience


  • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to communicate problems based on the many variables of the project.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a GPS technician prefeered but not required. Will train on site.


Other


  • Regular and predictable attendance with a good work ethic is a must.
  • Candidate must be willing to travel out of town as needed.
  • Willing to work flexible hours including long days, weekends and or evenings as necessary.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
  • Must work as a team player with strong communication skills.


Physical Demands


Average physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving average weight material with occasional lifting or moving materials or equipment (over 25 and up to 60 pounds). Physical Activity


Position requires the ability to occasionally work around any or all of the following: noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment is normally required of the position. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.
