The Opportunity
Hyatt seeks a Global Sales Director to join our Hyatt Sales Force – Luxury, Lifestyle, and Leisure team where you’ll join a team of 21 sales professionals who are passionate about what they do. The Global Sales Director will manage global luxury and lifestyle travel agency accounts, drive market share growth and develop new qualified Luxury/Lifestyle accounts, and overall drive premium business to Hyatt’s portfolio of hotels. This Director will work in tandem with the LLL team and internal and external stakeholders to create and implement strategic account plans that deliver on the organization’s sales strategy, short-term and long-term strategic objectives as well as tactics/initiatives for our Global Luxury, Lifestyle, and Leisure Accounts.
In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the broader Hyatt Sales Force and individual hotel teams where you’ll be instrumental in continuing to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company. The Role
The primary responsibility of the Global Sales Director includes developing strategic account plans to drive new revenue opportunities across a portfolio of qualified Luxury + Lifestyle Accounts within the luxury and lifestyle segment. Primarily, these accounts will be with travel agencies and niche lifestyle concierge organizations. The Director will also be responsible for uncovering new business opportunities in the luxury and lifestyle segment that support Hyatt’s portfolio of brands and hotels worldwide. The Director position includes total account management, handling both group and transient travel. This position will be responsible for developing and nurturing long-term strategic global accounts/relationships with a focus on shifting market share as well as driving premium business and new customers to our portfolio of brands. New business development and brand awareness globally are also key to supporting our hotels through proactive sales missions, tradeshows/events, and hotel familiarization trips. This is a remote position and the individual reports directly to the Regional Vice President- Global Sales.
- Create and maintain strategic account/action plans for each account that will include quota targets, customer engagement, key tactics to grow account revenue globally, annual & quarterly account reviews, promotions, and B2B marketing opportunities.
- Support worldwide hotel sales needs based on agreed priorities and anticipated business levels and recommend strategic initiatives based on industry expertise.
- Work closely with Hyatt Sales Force (HSF) colleagues to retain and expand the HSF’s Key accounts.
- Pre-qualify and target Key Accounts in assigned segments, utilizing analytics tools and prospecting strategies to develop appropriate and effective sales solicitation strategies to increase market share.
- Be the “one-stop shop” problem solver for all assigned HSF accounts.
- Entertain potential and current customers based on business priorities, including the ability to travel and work off-peak hours.
Ensure a high level of exposure through direct sales solicitation, telephone contact, and written communications.
- Ensure that Sales Contracts follow established Policies and Procedures and are based on sound commercial judgment.
- Maintain awareness and share market developments, customer trends, and industry intel.
- Assist hotel representatives with customer engagement including and not limited to scheduling appointments, targeted customer events, Sales Calls, and webinars.
- Ability to manage an event budget, communicate, and curate branded experiences for small groups and large events that are customer-facing.
- Attend industry events representing Hyatt through the organization’s principles and purpose, and act as a brand ambassador for our portfolio.
- Assist new Hotels to identify and acquire potential Accounts.
- Help to organize and coordinate strategic familiarization trips to optimize business goals.
- Conduct Product Presentations to increase awareness with Key Accounts.
- Prepare Monthly Activities Reports and Production Reports when needed.
- Very strong follow-up, organizational skills, and leadership skills.
- Must be a self-starter and capable of working independently in a fast-paced and relatively autonomous environment.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with presenting both virtually and in person to every level within the organization, and externally to clients.
- Takes initiative, is a team player, personable, discreet, and reliable.
- Strong project management skills and execution for large-scope initiatives.
- Data-driven, agile team player with creative solutions.
Qualifications
Experience Required:
- At least 8 years of related industry experience in global or regional sales, or hotel leadership role
- Has worked within hotel sales operations on a property
- Strong understanding of luxury, lifestyle, and leisure global travel and a network of contacts
- Excellent Presentation and networking skills
Experience Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of Hotels and Sales Practices
- MS Office, Lanyon, Reserve, Opera, Oracle, and Envision preferred
- Sales and/or operations roles in All-inclusive, Luxury, full-service and select-service properties
