Reimagine What’s Possible
We have an immediate opening for an experienced Global Crisis Management and Emergency Response Manager based in Allentown, Houston, London, or Rotterdam.
The incumbent will have responsibilities across the full range of company operations, from advising executives on crisis management of large, complex events with global ramifications, though to supporting emergency response training at facility level.
You will lead the ongoing development and support of company capabilities in this area across geographic regions and at the corporate level. This position will cover all core industrial gas business activities as well the new growth platforms, supporting the regional teams responsible for all aspects of production and distribution (road, rail, ship, barge, and pipeline).
Key responsibilities include:
Crisis Management:
- Senior advisor to regional, corporate, and executive management teams.
- Conduct crisis management exercises (corporate and regional).
- Train and mentor regional crisis management process owners and team members.
- Assess the state of readiness of regional and corporate teams and drive improvement where required.
- Prepare crisis-specific playbooks for crisis management teams.
- Lead the global crisis management center of excellence and the corporate crisis management steering team.
- Lead the global emergency response community of practice team that develops and shares best practices.
- Maintain emergency preparedness training programs.
- Assess and qualify private third-party emergency service providers.
- Determine emergency response requirements for new facilities during scope development, which may include the need to establish in-house emergency response capabilities.
- Provide training to regional teams, assess the state of readiness, and drive improvement where required.
- Collaborate with local Emergency Management agencies and front-line responders when required.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Demonstrated history as a leader in crisis management and emergency response for one or more large energy, petrochemical, or chemical companies, to include experience working with and advising senior company executives at the regional and global level.
- Managed a global crisis management program or served as a key contributor leading comprehensive crisis preparedness and response.
- Strong leader, trainer, facilitator, and influencer, able to work with and relate to the entire organization from emergency responders to the executive crisis team.
- Significant practical experience working directly with front line emergency response and crisis management personnel. Certified emergency responder preferred.
- Successful collaboration with community emergency management agencies and/or community advisory panels. Membership on a Local Emergency Planning Committee or industry organization a plus.
