Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
The City of Austin's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management ( HSEM ) plans and prepares for emergencies, educates the public about preparedness, develops volunteers, manages grant funding to improve homeland security and public safety capabilities, coordinates emergency response and recovery, supports planned events, and works with public and partner organizations to protect our whole community when it needs us the most.
These temporary position will play a critical role in supporting the response and will have a direct impact on the community, reducing the impact of emergencies and disasters on people, property and the environment. These temporary positions may have varying work schedules/days/hours.
The Work Will Have Involve The Coordination Of Activities In The Areas Of Emergency Preparedness, Mitigation, Response, Logistics, And Recovery Efforts, And May Include The Following
Travel
If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
Pay Range
$20.00 - $26.50 per hour
Hours
Up to 40 hours per week
Some positions will work primarily during standard business hours, however business needs may necessitate work outside of normal business hours, especially in the event of an emergency.
Some positions will be considered essential and as such, are subject to mandatory recall and flexible or extended work hours, including weekends, holidays and emergencies.
