We are seeking highly motivated and skilled professionals to join Parsons X, our global technology team supporting an innovative construction project in the Middle East. This project will push building design boundaries by implementing cutting-edge tech showcasing the future of design , engineering, construction, and facility management .

The GIS Content Specialist uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS), database, and spreadsheet software for GIS design, GIS mapping and analysis, database design and system development, and compilation and analysis of geographic data Must be familiar with working with BIM and CADD data in GIS and must be proficient in one or more GIS automation/programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and C#.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Experience with GIS Data Quality Control procedures and workflows.
  • GIS Data Modelling, GIS Database Schema design and development.
  • Creation of web-maps, web-GIS Apps and dashboards.
  • Data Translation between CAD/GIS, Export, Translate, Load (ETL) Operations using FME and custom geoprocessing scripts.
  • Publishing feature services and maps in ArcGIS Enterprise

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing and editing large GIS datasets, creating standardized GIS data layers, knowledge and use of GIS automation tools, Python scripts, geoprocessing models for data transfer and quality control.
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, AGOL, Server)
  • Proficiency in GIS software applications and programming is required. Also requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills and a working knowledge of industry practices.
  • 4-year degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, or related curriculum (or equivalent)

In addition, the incumbent must possess the following specific skills and competencies:

  • Systems and peripheral troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate results of assigned tasks in writing.
  • Well-developed skills with one or more GIS packages including scripting, programming, modelling, and designing.
  • Proficiency in basic office automation software including MS-Word or MS-Excel.
  • Proficiency in cartography and map design, including coordinating systems, projections, and map scales.
  • Ability to ascertain hardware/software limitations, how to work within them, and what can be done when limits are reached.
  • Ability to independently assess data anomalies, software problems, and program design flaws, and take appropriate steps to make the project work.
  • Desired experience with Esri GeoBIM, Esri Indoors, FME, AutoDesk Products, Digital Twin software.
  • Ability to utilize, convert and incorporate various types of data into GIS. Examples of this data include Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and database files.
  • Ability to design and maintain GIS databases and other database formats such as Microsoft Access, SQL, dBase, etc.
  • Ability to document work performed on a project in project logs.
  • Ability to document specific information about project data in the metadata file.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Systems automation skills (e.g., UNIX scripts, NT batch scripts, Linux scripts, SQL)
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such Python Notebooks (e.g. Jupyter, Anaconda), Python libraries (e.g. ArcPy, Numpy, Pandas, Scikit) and JavaScript.
  • Geospatial data development and standardization (geometry editing, attribution, metadata).

Salary Range:

$59,300.00 - $119,700.00
