Job Description
ASRC Federal Data Networx is seeking a Geospatial Analyst to support a USDA contract in Washington, DC.
Work location: Washington, DC, currently with hybrid schedule

Responsibilities:
  • Collect, process, and store relevant agricultural data (tabular and raster) for visualization and future use.
  • Research and present on data and trends impacting agriculture worldwide
  • Use machine-learning to generate crop classifications using Google Earth Engine.
  • Produce high-quality maps and data visualizations on demand.
  • Stay up to date with latest trends and technologies shaping the geospatial industry.
  • Collaborate effectively and maintain positive relationships with diverse team and customers to achieve shared mission.
  • Perform various geospatial and statistical analyses and effectively communicate results in presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Plan geospatial trainings to improve knowledge and skills of team and customers.
Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of principles and theories in remote sensing, GIS, and cartography/design. Experience using Google Earth Engine (GEE)
  • Experience to design/detail and experience quickly producing high-quality maps and other data visualizations to effectively communicate to diverse audiences
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience in agriculture, geospatial analysis, or cartography
  • Comfort working independently and seeking out best-practices
  • Collect, clean, and perform analysis of various datasets from different sources including remotely sensed satellite imagery, weather, geospatial and environmental datasets, agriculture production reports, and field data to support development of crop production data and maps
  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in geographic information science, environmental studies, or related field.
  • Expertise using ESRI ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience with data management and database query for tabular or raster data
