The Pittsburgh Juice Company is expanding to the new Vibrant Sunshine Juicery Cafe. As a small business, we are seeking a leader who understands the needs of a growing startup. The General Manager position will be a leadership position that will require taking ownership of responsibilities outlined below. We expect this person to become an autonomous and essential point person within the business, working in close partnership with the business owner.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to join our team at The Pittsburgh Juice Company and Vibrant Sunshine Juicery Cafe. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our kitchen and cafe operations. This includes retail sales, customer service, wholesale production, inventory management, and staff supervision. Your role is crucial in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving overall growth and profitability.
Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management:
Develop and implement operational strategies, procedures focusing on sustainable productivity.
Oversee daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth functioning and maintaining high standards.
Monitor and manage production processes to meet demand, maintain freshness, and limit waste.
2. Sales and Customer Service:
Drive retail and wholesale sales growth through marketing strategies, product promotion, and customer satisfaction.
Monitor and analyze sales trends. Implement strategies to optimize revenue generation.
Maintain top quality customer experience by ensuring prompt and friendly service, addressing customer concerns, resolving issues, and building a welcoming environment for our community.
3. Wholesale Production:
Oversee management of retail and wholesale juice production operations end-to-end.
Collaborate with wholesale clients to understand their needs, manage relationships, and ensure timely deliveries.
Coordinate production schedules and maintain adequate inventory levels to meet demand.
4. Staff Supervision and Training:
Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen, coffee bar, and cafe staff, ensuring proper staffing levels and adherence to company policies.
Provide leadership and guidance to employees, prioritizing a positive, collaborative work space.
Proactively address performance issues by conducting evaluations and implementing training.
5. Financial Management:
Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and analyze reports to ensure profitability.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with the management team to develop pricing strategies and evaluate product data.
6. Health and Safety Compliance:
Prioritize compliance with health, safety, food handling regulations, and cleanliness standards.
Enforce proper sanitation practices, equipment maintenance, and workplace safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in managing operations in a related area of the food and beverage industry.
Strong knowledge of cold pressed juicing processes, cafe operations, and wholesale production.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, desire to motivate and manage a diverse staff.
Strong business acumen, including financial management, budgeting, and inventory control.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
Exceptional customer service skills and a strong commitment to quality and excellence.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.
