Scope and Responsibility:
Primary Responsibilities:
• Market share (WI)
• Financial goals - maximize revenue and profitability of the store and Boat Sales
• New business development i.e. Service, Parts, Pro Shop, Boat Club, etc.
• Customer service / customer experience
• Manage boat (new and used) and trailer inventory, working with Sales Mgr at main store
Lead and manage team:
• Lead and manage team to achieve optimum performance
• Implement established company’s processes, procedures, and policy and ensure all team members are following
• Ensure all aspects of employee development are administered with regard to recruitment, selection, orientation and training (i.e., schedule, interview, hire, train, coach, and motivate)
• Hold weekly staff meetings to ensure high levels of communication and coordination
• Develop and execute plans, policies, and procedures for training programs
• Conduct performance evaluations for all staff (minimum annually)
• Ensure that all employees project a positive company image at all times
• Review commissions with Sales staff regularly to be sure all salespeople are paid accurately & timely
• Manage any/all employee conflicts – be firm but fair with your decisions.
• Properly document employee behavior that may result in corrective action
• Create and manage performance improvement plans (PIPs) for employees that are underperforming
• Ensure high levels of communication between all other depts./locations
• Work to maximize the CRM to increase efficiencies and effectiveness of the Sale process and inventory/customer management
• Become knowledgeable in DockMaster for POS, customer information, inventory, and service
Market share:
• Meet or exceed market share goals in selling territory – goal to be #1 in every county in our territory
• Use data analysis to identify market opportunities & new markets
• Develop, implement & execute plans targeting market opportunities
• Measure results & make changes as necessary
Financial Goals:
• Drive financial success of the store. Proactively seek ways to improve profitability by increasing revenue, increasing GM%, and controlling expenses
• Work with the GM to set annual financial and market share goals for the store
• Set individual and department goals and objectives
• Monitor weekly sales records against sales goals
• Review the sales performance of each salesperson against established goals
• Use the CRM to hold sales staff accountable to daily action plans
• Ensure that proper sales techniques are being demonstrated by entire sales staff
• Develop and implement boat pricing strategies, working with Sales Mgr at main location
• Monitor, measure and change, as necessary, boat pricing strategies
• Review used boat pricing at weekly meetings, w/ Sales Mgr at main location, to analyze all data (interest, hits on websites, calls, showings, etc). Adjust pricing based on this data. Contact customer if consignment.
• Ensure a consistent and all-inclusive finance and insurance process is administered for each sale
• Establish annual F&I goals and ensure goals are being met
• Understand, monitor, and manage all facets of the store budget
• Ensure store expenses are at or below budget
New Business Development:
• Lead the development and growth of new revenue centers at the store i.e. Service, Parts, Pro Shop, Boat Club, etc.
• Recruit, hire, train, and manage new team members to help grow and develop these revenue centers
• Implement established company’s processes, from main location, in each revenue center. Work with dept. Mgrs from main location
• Scale the staffing for each revenue center as they grow
• Achieve financial goals and objectives for each revenue center
Customer Relations:
• Deliver exceptional customer service to all company’s customers
• Develop and implement customer care processes
• Ensure that the highest levels of customer care are demonstrated by every team member
• Strive to always exceed the customer’s expectations
• Ensure that customer inconveniences, complaints and misunderstandings are dealt with fairly and quickly
• Handle customer complaints that demand management’s attention
• Conduct all business in accordance with the company’s Mission and Values Statement
• Maintain high levels of CSI (customer satisfaction index) with all boat brands. Achieve company CSI goals.
Boat Inventory:
• Manage boat/trailer inventory – both new & used, working with Sales Mgr at main location
• Project inventory needs based on projected sales goals
• Manage inventory boat movement, working with Sale Mgr at main location
• Track all inventory after sale – boat readied for delivery to customer
• Maintain all boats to look clean & sharp for showings
• Fix any/all damage found on new inventory
General:
• Maintain a high level of dealership cleanliness in all areas
• Hold team members accountable for the cleanliness in their respective areas
• Ensure that the store is always presented in an organized and professional manner
• Boat shows and customer appreciation events:
• Lead, plan, execute, and measure results of all boat shows and customer appreciation events in the territory. Work with Sale Mgr on Chicago Boat Show.

• Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office, Google sheets
• Dockmaster experience preferred
• Salesforce experience preferred
• 5+ years of sales experience
• 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience
• BA in Management preferred
