Purpose of Role: Under the direction of the VP, Global Operations, the General Manager, Global Operations is responsible for leading an assigned portfolio of ESCO Division’s foundry and fabrication operations. This includes owning and leading the assigned portfolio of ESCO foundry and fabrication operational plans and outcomes; SHE, budgeting, performance management, capacity planning, and setting strategy and direction to help achieve the business priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Develop and gain agreement to annual business plans for assigned portfolio of ESCO Division Operations ensuring alignment with strategy; quantify business outcomes (i.e. revenues or other key performance indicators); detail expense and headcount budgets; and develop business cases for key projects, ensuring cross-functional integration. Achieves financial objectives by forecasting needs, preparing a budget and managing expenditures.
  • Multi-cultural Leadership: Provide constructive feedback to assigned personnel through written and verbal communication regarding performance, quality requirements, and safe work habits.Participate in and champion the adoption of new processes, products, and systems technology to meet the Division’s objectives. Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team oriented, and customer focused attitude within and between departments.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Manufacturing Operational Strategy: Develop the strategy for the assigned portfolio to help achieve the ESCO Division Operations priorities, anticipating complex issues, challenges and opportunities. Ensure the strategy is successfully implemented. Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of ESCO Division Operations within the assigned portfolio by evaluating current capabilities, identifying gaps, and prioritizing development activities.
  • Data Driven Solutions: Accountable for portfolio’s balanced scorecard. Manage and report on the performance of assigned portfolio of ESCO Division Operations; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
  • Willing and able to travel approx. 25% globally
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business, operations, or manufacturing is a requirement
  • Substantial experience in managing international inter-company relationships and an inter-company value chain.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to create short, mid, and long term strategies.
  • Substantial P&L responsibility over the last ten years, with ability to effectively read and understand detailed financial statements
  • Must have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing manufacturing operations strategy
  • Must have demonstrated ability to share and engage others in vision of the business.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, Master’s degree, a plus
  • Must be driven and results oriented and demonstrate and ability to meet key metrics.
  • Must be permanently eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
