General Maintenance Technician Jobs

ABOUT THIS ROLE
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Inspect and repair roofing
• Inspect, repair, and maintain shelters, buildings, and decking
• Prioritize and respond to service requests
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs in facilities including, but not limited to, general structures, shelters, playgrounds, painting, and decking
• Coordinate inspections for contractor performed work in renovations and new construction projects
• Repair and maintain doors, hinges, drywall, windows, framing, and ceiling tiles
• Repair and build furniture, shelving, cabinets, or other miscellaneous office structures

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
8th grade education and 1 year of related experience.
PREFERENCES

• 1+ year of related maintenance experience in general maintenance or construction
• High school diploma, G.E.D. or trade school certificate
• Experience in other trades such as plumbing, HVAC, mechanical or electrical systems
• Familiarity with computers and the ability to use a computerized maintenance management system
• General maintenance/construction skills

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Monday-Friday, 6:00AM-2:00PM. Possible rotating On-Call schedule (varies). Maintenance operations are located at Locust Shade Park in Triangle, VA.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a valid Driver’s License
• DPRT conducts DMV records checks on all licensed employees
• Must pass local, state, and federal background check and fingerprinting may be required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, and up to 80 pounds as necessary

STARTING SALARY RANGE
$22.01-$27.51 an hour
