1st shift - $16 per hour Monday - Thursday 4:00 am - 2:30 pm = 4/10s
2nd shift - $16 per hour plus $1 shift differential Monday - Thursday 2:30 pm - 1:00 am = 4/10s
Weekend shift - $16 per hour Sunday, Friday, Saturday 4:00 am - 4:30 pm (work 36 hrs get paid for 40)
A Brief Summary of This Position:
Valmont is currently seeking a motivated, hard-working individual for the General Laborer position in our Production department. We are looking for a team player that will be able to learn and complete a variety of tasks as needed within the plant. A go getter that requires minimal micro management.
Essential Functions:
  • Work in hot, cold or rainy environment
  • Be able to learn and apply training
  • Rig/hang parts using wire to prep for galvanizing
  • Wear full PPE at all times while on the floor – steel toed boots w/met guards, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, work pants/jean, long sleeves, high viz vest.
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Mask and tape parts for the Corrocoting process
  • Be a Team Player assisting in other areas of the plant as needed
  • Clean and finish product using hand tools and/or power tools according to specifications
  • Complete paperwork
  • Work safely, protecting self and others from accident and injury
  • Assist in general plant clean up and housekeeping
  • Be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, hold, grasp for various amounts of time
  • Be willing to cross train in other jobs/areas

What it takes

Required qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • The ability to be flexible within the plant
  • The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision
  • The ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, push, pull, squat, hold, grasp for various amounts of time
  • The ability to communicate problems or needs to lead or supervisor
  • The ability to work in an outside environment
  • The ability to use hand tools and/or power tools
  • The ability to learn and apply training

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
  • The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
  • Minimum six months experience using power tools
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
  • Minimum six months experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
  • Minimum six months experience using hand tools
