Job Description

General Counsel


We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in trademark licensing, contracts, codes, non-profit management and be licensed to practice law in the state of Washington. This is a volunteer position.


Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically.
  • Oversee legal matters of the business as a whole.
  • Manage intellectual property rights including trademarks and copyrights.
  • Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts with vendors and clients.
  • Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action.
  • Set internal governance policies and manage the impact of external factors.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Act as the business’ legal representative.


Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a practicing attorney with experience in trademark licensing, contracts, codes, non-profit management.
