Garment Technician - Avantor Labs

Job Summary

In this role, you will report to the Supervisor, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel - and our customers - to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Rio Rancho, NM

Shift: Sun, Mon, Tue, and every other Wed, 6 am - 6 pm (11 hours w/1 hour lunch)

Wage: $14.85 per hour

What We're Looking For

Education: High School diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

Experience: 1+ years customer service, inventory replenishment, and/or material handling experience required.

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility preferred but not required.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. required.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service skills including a professional can-do demeanor.
• Must be flexible, forward-thinking, motivated, and can act independently.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet goals.
• Attention and high regard for safety and quality.

How You Will Thrive And Create An Impact

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

• Other duties as assigned
• Collection and inspection of used garments.
• Responsible for preparing shipping documentation and staging material for pickup.
• Receive inbound shipments from common carriers, including reviewing and approving any invoices and shipping receipts.
• Point person for any garment issues or concerns.
• Point of use replenishment of the PPE (bunny suits) the Technicians wear in the cleanroom.
• Ordering new garments as needed or any special sizes.
• Documentation of usage data at point of use and adding it to tracking log.
• Daily inspections of inventory & soil bin checks to avoid overflow.
