Full Stack Developer - Remote Optional

DISCUS Software Company is looking to hire an experienced software developer to join our commercial product development team as a full-time employee near the Dayton, Ohio, area. The DISCUS products are software tools for accelerating manufacturing and quality engineering. DISCUS has thousands of customers in the aerospace, automotive, and medical device manufacturing industries. The next generation of DISCUS products currently in development are browser and mobile-based tools to enable digital transformation in forward-looking industrial enterprises.

We are seeking candidates with experience building and deploying enterprise applications using the latest tools and technologies including Spring Framework, REST APIs, Hibernate, MySQL, and ReactJS. This position will allow for some remote work for Ohio Residents within a reasonable commute of our Dayton, Ohio office.

As an experienced software engineer, you will be responsible to:

• Design, develop, and testing of web applications for PC, tablet, and other mobile devices
• Take ownership for development of Applications, SDKs, tools, and components written in various programming languages
• Be online working 8 hours a day and located within a 0-2 hour drive of our Dayton, Ohio office. You will be expected to attend meetings regularly on Fridays in person.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience

• Experience with ReactJS, AngularJS, or Vue.js
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Years of web application development and deployment experience using Java incorporating Spring Framework and Hibernate

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, Experience

• Experience with Maven and GIT
• Experience with Tomcat or Jetty
• Experience with developing modern REST APIs with Swagger
• Experience with Hibernate and MySQL or Oracle

Optional Skills, Knowledge, Experience

• Experience with Continuous Integration, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience building applications on AWS infrastructure
• Experience building applications with JavaFX
• Experience with Redis and Memcached
