Function

The Front Desk Agent registers and assigns rooms, issue room keys, transmit and receive messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests’ accounts, presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guests, making and confirming reservations, answering PBX calls and connecting callers to the appropriate extension, collecting guest player club information while making marketing room reservations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Contacting housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems
• Making and confirming reservations
• Performing simple bookkeeping activities, such as balancing cash accounts
• Keeping records of room availability and guests’ accounts on computer
• Issuing room keys and relay instructions to bellhops
• Computing bills and collecting payments in Visual One
• Advising housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning
• Performing other duties as assigned
• Answering inquiries pertaining to hotel services, shopping, dining, entertainment and any other activity connected with the hotel, casino, or entertainment complex
• Recording guest comments or complaints, referring guest to supervisor if needed
• Greeting, registering, and assigning rooms to hotel guests
• Answering PBX calls and routing calls to proper extensions
• Verifying guest identification and establishing how the guest will pay for their accommodations

Derby City Gaming Downtown a $76 million expansion of Derby City Gaming is being constructed at 140 S. Fourth St., in Louisville, KY. It includes construction of a hotel, additional gaming positions and expansion of the current amenities at the facility in order to better serve and attract guests.

The project will add 135,000 sq. ft. of new space to the facility and open with 200 additional gaming positions. The new space will be able to ultimately accommodate up to 400 new gaming positions.

The expansion will include a VIP gaming space, a new sports bar, a stage for live entertainment and an upscale-casual restaurant and bar to create a variety of new food and beverage options for gaming and hotel guests throughout the entire day.
