Freight Planner Jobs

At Northstar Recycling, the Freight Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with haulers and keeping Northstar freight costs competitive. This will include rate negotiation and identifying areas for improvement with the freight spend. Daily responsibilities include:

• Identify freight savings opportunities
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with haulers as well as expand hauler list
• Monitor hauler performance
• Trello board management
• Verify hauler equipment and capacity information
• On-call hours are required with this position (this is compensated with additional pay)
• Respond to and resolve complaints and problems

Requirements

• TMS experience (Mercury Gate TMS experience preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of freight logistics experience
• Able to work well independently
• Experience working with Excel
• Ability to multi-task with multiple computer platforms
• Ability to collaborate cross-departmentally
• Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
