As the Palletizer/Freezer Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for running the machine and operating the forklift to move finished pallets into the freezer. You will work at our Indianapolis Bakery plant and report to the Production Team Lead. You will earn $20.55 per hour.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Record downtime and problems identified in the production process on written logs.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance or calibrations of packaging, casing, and/or palletizing equipment.
• Load roll of packaging wrappers onto packaging equipment.
• Communicate any needed technical assistance from other Company personnel to maintain or improve production efficiency and quality.
• Monitor palletizing equipment for issues related to safety.
• Make adjustments to palletizing equipment to improve efficiency of operations.
• Inspect and verify condition of palletizing equipment prior to beginning operations and throughout operations.
• Communicate with other work associates to coordinate palletizing activities.
• Adjust and calibrate equipment at initial start-up.
• Complete written pre-operational report for checking equipment prior to beginning packaging operations.
• Communicate with Company personnel (other than operators) palletizing materials.
• Obtain daily forms and record in writing all required packaging, casing, and/or palletizing process information.
• Coordinate work activities with work associates and Company personnel as needed.
• Operate HMI control panel to control filling and packaging of product.
• Maintain computer related equipment or control panel to operate automated machinery.
• Load packaging, casing, and/or palletizing materials into automated equipment.
• Manually transport packaging, casing, and/or palletizing materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in a production, manufacturing or distribution environment
• Experience operating a forklift

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Operate a sit-down forklift truck to transport materials and product to and from storage safely.
• Operate a standup double-reach forklift truck to pick and put away products in the refrigerated warehouse safely.
• Sit, stand, walk and climb stairs during time on duty.
