Forklift Operator - Distribution Center

We are looking for technically skilled candidates with excellent attention to detail for the position of Forklift Operator. Forklift Operators are responsible for optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency, scheduling vehicles for maintenance and repairs, and managing inventory by utilizing equipment. A qualified candidate for the Forklift Operator has an excellent work ethic and is always looking for tasks to keep them busy. They are self-starters that look for ways to contribute to their team and exceed their production goals.

The Forklift Operator must have a strong memory that allows them to recall information about products, equipment, and the warehouse layout, so they can easily access the inventory they need. Forklift operators will need to transport valuable merchandise, requiring diligence and good hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Securing loads to the machine before transportation
• Adhering to safety management standards
• Adhering to production schedules
• Picking and wrapping orders for shipment
• Transporting materials to different locations within the facility
• Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency
• Identifying workplace safety hazards
• Scheduling vehicles for maintenance and repairs
• Loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving warehouse items
• Operating and managing technical equipment
• Inspecting for damages to vehicles

Education & Skills

• Attention to detail
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mathematical aptitude
• High school diploma or GED
• Proficiency in operating technical machinery
• Valid fork-lifting certificate
• Good physical condition
• Good organizational skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Hours & Compensation

• 7:00am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday
• Starting rate $16/hour or commensurate with experience
