Job Description
Expected pay range: $75,000/yearly with a day rate of $410 when traveling

The Food Service Team Manager’s (FSTM) primary responsibility is to oversee and execute all food service contracts while on the road. FSTM’s will be assigned a small group of Food Service Technicians (FST) whom they will have direct contact with and will be responsible for their training with assistance and guidance from the Food Service Growth & Development team. At home responsibilities include implementing department policies and best practices and ensuring proper training and accountability of these policies with the food service team as well as weekly and/or biweekly check ins with their assigned groups to ensure training goals are being met. The Food Service Team Manager will also be assigned Food Service Tech Leads to support their operations while on deployment.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Performs checks and ensures that HACCP procedures are followed
  • Coordinates equipment service calls with Food Service Vendor/Procurement Manager when required.
  • Meet with FS Growth & Development to review and update FST goals on a quarterly basis
  • Conducts weekly check ins with assigned new hires to provide guidance and feedback
  • Oversees overall Food Service operations when on deployment
  • Assist Personnel with Progressive Action Forms and employee feedback
  • Competent with DR asset tracking software
  • Assists Project Managers with contract asset planning
  • Reviews End of Job evaluations and creates training goals for assigned FST
  • Oversees direct quality control and sanitation compliance on assigned contracts
  • Become competent with business software for proposal submissions (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel etc.)
    • Competent with DR asset tracking software
    • Ensures all contract requirements are being met when actively managing a site
    • Files Daily Field Report when actively managing a site
    • Ensures Industry Safe Inspections or completed daily when actively managing a site
  • Ensures all contract requirements are being met when actively managing a site

  • Delegate day to day tasks to Food Service Tech Leads

Skills and Specifications:

  • Thorough understanding of quality customer food service and preparation of a variety of nutritional meals from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Possess a current manager level ServSafe certificate or equivalent federally recognized health and sanitation program
  • Excellent leadership & management experience and communications Skills

Supervisory Responsibility:

Supervisor for the Food Service Technicians, Leads and Supervisors under the guidance of the VP of Food Service.

Work Environment

This job operates in facility and field environments. We operate 24/7/365, inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, hand tools, site equipment and vehicles, and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb and stand. Lifting of up to 75 lbs may occur. Expectation of exposure to weather (heat, cold, rain, snow).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and is based remotely. The minimum hours per week is 40. Typical hours are based on the following:

  • On contract: Variable 8-14 hours a day with occasional additional hours as needed.
  • Off contract: Full time 8:00AM – 5:00PM, 5 days a week. Overtime may be offered or requested.

Travel

This position requires up to 80% travel. Travel is associated with all contract work. Travel is dependent on contract load and disaster response. Ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Knowledgeable in inventory control. HACCP, TB MED-530, FDA and U.S Department of Health and Human Services Food Code standards.
  • 2 years experience in large scale government dining facility operations or equivalent operations, plus 5 years additional experience in the restaurant industry.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).
  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and a background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment.
