What We Expect:
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Apply technical knowledge of field and stay abreast of new developments by attending sem inars and reading applicable pub lications and research in the fi led
- Conduct fitness center tours to promote membership and assist sales site tour visits promoting the integration of fitness programs and fitness breakout sessions during business meetings and retreats
- Manage, train, and schedule full, part time and per diem staff whos positions include exercise physiologist , exercise sp ecialist, exer cise coordinator, pers onal trainer and group fitness instr uctors to succes sfully operate the fitness center and fitness programs
- Other duties assigned
- Provide personal trainer shift coverage as scheduled by the fitness manager to satisfy member and guest demand and to maximize revenue.
- Complete all Personal Trainer billing in accordance with Four Seasons accounting procedures and fitness department processes.
- Ability to effectively educate and communicate with the medical, health, and fitness p rofessional community and the public about preventive exercise programs
- Responsible for greeting guests upon arrival and providing tours of facility.
- Delivers high quality both private and group fitness instruction that consistently meets and exceeds the members' and guests' expectations.
- Competent in rendering first aid/AED/CPR
- Actively promote personal training and fitness activities through frequent member and guest interaction.
- Comfortable at public speaking and presenting
- Ability to adhere to all Four Seasons cultural and core standards
- Ability to develop and execute effective training plans that consistently meets and exceeds member and guests health and fitness goals.
- Maintain constant communication with the Fitness Manager and Director of wellness regarding guest related issues.
- Oversee group exercise component ; develop , promote and schedule classes
- Ability to report equipment malfunctions promptly and accurately.
- Must be able to conduct personal training se ssions, fitness cons ultations and/or group fitness classes for approximately 8-10 hours per week on a regular basis
- Possess a high level of attention to detail to maintain a meticulously clean and tidy fitness facility as instructed by the operations manager.
- Provide compre hensive fitness asses sment, interpretation, and appropriate exercise prescription for clients of the fitness center
- Promote the positive image of the program by engaging in healthy lifestyle practices.
- Ability to provide the proper and safe operation and care of all health club equipment including fitness equipment, free weights, bicycles and cardio equipment.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
- Develop Fitness programming content for workshops, events and lectures
- Inform guests on all aspects regarding the services, hours of operation, rules and regulations, and classes to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Select and participate in continuing education programs that enhance knowledge and skills, maximize effectiveness, and increase professionalism in the field.
- Work with sales and event coordinators to deter mine client needs and applicable event content and programming
- Handle all member and guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible, resolve customer complaints, assist customers in all inquiries in connection with club and resort services.
- Ability to ensure safety procedures are followed and notify Security of any incident or injury.
- Be recognized expert of the Center; an essential part of an integrated health and wellb eing team that provides comp rehensive fitness, medical, nutritional, life balance, and spa services.
- In partnership with the Operations Manager, assist in managing fitness center, locker room and indoor pool facility related issues; including assistance in coordinating and scheduling fitness equipment services and repairs, purchase orders and inventories
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Ability to design and create content for fitness programs and worksh ops
- Ability to provide compre hensive fitness related services to include but not limited to counseling , eva luation, and exercise prescription, body composition assessment ( multiple methods) VO2 evaluation/interpretation and prescription, postural asses sment, and all related fitness asses sments
- Creative and safe approach to applying fitness instruction
- Minimum of 5 + years experience in the fitness industry with at least one year as a health or fitness manager where an integrated approach fitness and health is promoted. Providing fitness consultations and personal training in a similar club or resort. Involvement and knowledge in exercise programming and training for more mature age groups
- People oriented with positive attitude, professional appearance, and strong customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage group fitness sessions
- Involvement and knowledge in exercise programming and training for the over fifties age group
- Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States
- College degree preferred in an exercise science related field (Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Integrative Physiology, Human Movement, Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology)
- Understanding of high quality fitness service experience
- A national certification in Personal Training & Corrective Exercise, NASM, ACSM
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Possess public speaking skills to the public and medical communities
