Our client is a very prestigious and global expert-led advisory firm that provides integrated solutions for their clients to help them navigate an increasingly complex, regulated and interconnected business. They specialize in Commercial diplomacy, Crisis, dispute and issue management, capital markets advisory and corporate positioning.

The Group FP&A Manager will be a key member of the finance team and report directly to the Head of Group FP&A and Corporate Development.


As the Global FP&A Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial planning and analysis processes across our organization. You will be responsible for providing strategic financial insights, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical support to help the company achieve its financial objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of financial analysis, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.


The role is being recruited during the process of an ongoing finance transformation project. As such, this presents the role owner with an exciting and unique opportunity to be involved at a critical period of change for the function, and to assist in shaping the future of finance.


This role works closely with partners, functional heads, and all finance team members across the regions. We will build a team to support this role as required and in line with firm growth trajectory.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including monthly/quarterly performance reports, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and make recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, including currency fluctuations, market volatility, and regulatory changes. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the financial health of the organization.
  • Documentation and Training: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data management processes, reporting templates, and data dictionaries. Provide training and support to users on financial systems, data entry, and report generation.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the global budgeting and forecasting processes by working closely with business units and functional teams. Consolidate and analyse financial data, review assumptions, and provide guidance on financial targets. Monitor and track performance against budgets/forecasts, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and high-performing culture, encourage knowledge sharing, and drive continuous learning within the team.
  • FP&A Systems Administration: Manage and maintain the financial planning systems, tools, and databases used by the FP&A team. Ensure proper configuration, troubleshoot system issues, and provide technical support to users. Collaborate with IT teams to implement system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Strategic Decision Support: Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to senior management and business leaders to drive informed decision-making. Evaluate investment opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and potential risks to support long-term growth and profitability.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance the FP&A team processes, tools, and methodologies to drive efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices, streamline workflows, and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.


The Ideal Candidate:

Essential:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Professional finance certifications (e.g. CPA, CFA)
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting skills
  • Experience working with ERP and FP&A software Anaplan in a large global organisation
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Flexibility of being onsite in Washington DC, with travel to other office locations as required
  • Experience in leading and developing a team of financial professionals
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to think strategically
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards and practices (IFRS and US GAAP)
  • 5-10 years of strong FP&A experience, preferably in a global or multinational company


Preferred:

  • Experience in external audit environment
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is preferred
  • Experience working in a professional services or similar nature business
