Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit. Essential Job Functions

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold throughout thestore.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Promote for sale to our customers any current charitable promotions.
• Understand and follow the company guidelines on tendering electronic fund transactions such as Credit/Debit Cards, EBT and Gift Cards, as well as cashand check transactions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Walk the sales floor daily checking that all displays are properly signed.
• Check prices, which require knowing the locations of all items.
• Understand and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items like Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks, Videos, etc.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Understand and follow the company guidelines on bottom of the basket.
• Tender customer transactions in a quick and efficient manner.
• Understand and adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering vendor coupons, coin star vouchers, cash limits and Shrink guidelines.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Ensure that signs are properly hung on all displays on the sales floor.
• Complete scan audits timely after weekly ad change.
• Understand and follow the guidelines in scanning every item.
• Strive to achieve Company's item per bag guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station.
• Understand the operation of the cash register and follow all cashier handling policies to prevent loss.
• Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
• Read, sort and distribute store mail to appropriate personnel.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Maintain shelf tags and ensures they are correctly hung to eliminate price discrepancies.
• Recognize the different types of Produce.
