Field Service Technician Jobs

Hours: Monday- Friday 8AM to 5:00PM, evenings as needed, weekend shift rotation possible, holidays as needed

Travel: 10% overnight travel (includes meal per diem & travel expense coverage)

This position will report to our Mascoutah, Illinois location but will focus on customers located in the Jersey, Calhoun, Madison and Bond county general service areas.

Wisper Internet is seeking full-time non-exempt Field Service Technician to join our Operations team. This role serves as the "face of Wisper" in the communities where we provide service by installing new service for customers, offering customer education, assistance with connecting customer devices to their wireless internet and troubleshooting existing service as needed. Our Field Service Technicians are exposed to variety on a daily basis: working hands-on with tools, configuring technology, climbing ladders and roofs in all weather conditions and driving to various jobs throughout our network each work day. Essential Job Functions

• Maintain company-issued assets including tools, equipment & vehicles
• Keep accurate & current inventory & vehicle maintenance logs
• Electronically transfer equipment to customer locations to ensure accurate tracking of equipment
• Provide highest level of customer experience in all interactions with customers
• Perform equipment upgrades for existing customers
• Safely drive company vehicle while utilizing most efficient routes
• Diagnose & troubleshoot connectivity problems
• Perform Site Surveys to determine serviceability
• Install new service for customers
• Other related duties as directed
• Configure routers & customer devices as needed

Job Requirements

• Must be comfortable working on roofs, at varying heights & in tight spaces
• Legally authorized to work in country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future
• Regular & predictable attendance required- Standard minimum 40 hour work week
• Ability to drive a vehicle without presenting a safety risk to self or others
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of industry certifications as needed(Ex: SBCA, SAS, etc)
• Ability to be added to Company auto insurance policy
• Current valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements

X-Heavy: Lifting 25+ lbs.
