Modern Electron has an immediate opening for an experienced Field Operations Manager. In this role, you will lead our operations team for our field-deployed pilot skids at customer sites. Your immediate focus will be to build a detailed and comprehensive field operations plan, define requirements, and then lead the field operations team to ensure successful installation, startup, commissioning, and operations. Following the successful deployment, you will contribute to future projects by building the technical infrastructure for the service programs of our next generation pilots and plants.
You’ll report directly to the VP of Engineering and collaborate with the engineering & operations team.

Responsibilities
- Create and manage O&M program and develop field O&M documentation packages and SOPs in consultation with the Modern Electron technology development team.
- Select, coordinate, and manage field-deployed Modern Electron staff and local contractors to support pilot startup, commissioning, and operations activities.
- Create & manage inventory system for wear parts & critical spares for all pilot locations.
- Provide intimate daily support of field-based operations teams onsite at customer locations for startup, commissioning, and inaugural operations of pilot plants (50-75% travel time associated with these early project phases).
- Accountable for the stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity of our pilots.
- Develop and manage the Field Operations Plan for the hydrogen generation technology pilot program.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Create and manage Field Operations Safety Program, in conjunction with relevant local / regional HSE compliance requirements.
- Develop upgrade, service, and hot work procedures for field-based pilot equipment enhancements or modifications.
- Develop and manage the Project Execution Plan (PEP) for the hydrogen generation technology pilot program.
Necessary Skills and Experience
- 5-10 years experience working in a commissioning and/or field operations environment for oil & gas projects or other industrial environments. Hydrogen and/or carbon experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to interpret local / regional HSE & environmental regulatory codes & standards, and experience building operations plans in adherence to these codes & standards.
- Experience managing and leading customer-facing engagements, with an ability to reconcile operational activities with customer expectations in a respectful manner.
- Consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws, the ability to pass a drug and alcohol test based on customer site requirements.
- Experience working within a Lean Six Sigma safety environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to manage and maintain safety protocols while working under pressure in a dynamic field operations environment.
- Engineering degree in mechanical or process engineering.
- 3-5 years experience in the deployment of industrial pilot systems of first of kind process technologies.
- Experience working in fast-paced, highly demanding construction and/or O&M environments where minimizing downtime is critical to project success and profitability.
- 3-5 years experience managing or coordinating daily operations & maintenance (O&M) programs and reporting O&M program status to senior management.
